Fujairah's government-backed oil trading and storage company has filed a claim on the cargo seized from a Capital Ship Management VLCC last month.
Fujairah International Oil & Gas Corp (FIOGC) filed papers in the US federal court for Washington, DC on 11 March, seeking to recoup the oil the US confiscated from the 297,900-dwt Achilleas (built 2010).
The year-old group is owned entirely by the emirate's ruler, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi.
