John Fredriksen’s Frontline is boosting its large tanker fleet by taking two VLCCs on charter from Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics.
The Oslo and New York-listed company has fixed the 297,000-dwt FPMC C Noble (built 2012) and FPMC P Melody (built 2011) on charters for two years, with options for a third year, market sources said.
The rate is believed to be $21,750 per day for each ship, which is in line with recently concluded deals.
