Greek owner Evangelos Pistiolis has doubled his VLCC orderbook at Hyundai Heavy Industries with a contract for another pair of large crude carriers, according to market sources.
The Ulsan-based shipyard will deliver the first VLCC in the first quarter of 2022 and the second one in the second quarter, the sources said.
Pistiolis is benefiting from falling newbuilding prices to bet on a rising market for the high-specification, scrubber-fitted vessels that he has ordered for the spot market.
