Evalend Shipping of Greece has exercised an option for a VLCC newbuilding at Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Industry sources said the Kriton Lendoudis-led company booked the 300,000-dwt tanker two months ago, but the deal went unreported.
They added the order has emerged from an option that the shipowner held at the South Korean shipyard when it signed up for two similar-size vessels earlier this year.
