Belgium’s Euronav is reportedly buying the final two VLCCs in the fleet of US owner Hartree Partners.
European shipbrokers say the giant tanker company is swooping on the 300,000-dwt Chelsea (built 2020) and Ghillie (built 2019), which have been owned by the New York fund since they were delivered from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea.
An en-bloc price of $181m has been quoted, but Euronav is not commenting.
