Shipowner Euronav is taking advantage of a red-hot tanker market to offload a 15-year-old VLCC.
Market sources in Athens and London say the 319,300-dwt TI Hellas (built 2005) is said to have fetched a very firm price of $38.5m. Brokers had the vessel priced at around $36.5m but it earned a premium due to a quantity of very-low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) included in the sale which had been stored on board.
