The European Union has blacklisted Russian state carrier Sovcomflot and its chief executive in its latest package of sanctions.
Igor Tonkovidov, 60, was targeted as the head of a key company involved in Russian oil exports that provided vital revenue for the Kremlin to wage war against Ukraine, according to an EU notice.
“Igor Tonkovidov is supporting, materially and financially, the Government of the Russian Federation,” the EU said.
