Egyptian officials are “cautiously optimistic” that traffic will pick up in the Suez Canal following a ceasefire in the Red Sea.
The country’s investment and foreign trade minister, Hassan El Khatib, said Egypt would start talking to shipping companies in an effort to encourage them to return to the waterway, following the Houthis’ announcement they would stop attacking ships.
