Idan Ofer is closing in on the purchase of BW Group’s chemical tanker fleet in a deal that would see the billionaire take a leading position in the sector.
Ofer’s Eastern Pacific Shipping is ready to buy 13 modern, 19,900-dwt vessels from Andreas Sohmen-Pao-backed BW Group, sources say.
The deal between two of the world's largest shipowners, which is worth about $350m, is believed to be on subjects.
