Malaysian tanker owner EA Technique (EAT) has expanded its towage operations with a deal to buy domestic operator Libra Perfex Precision.
The takeover is costing it MYR 5m ($1.23m), it said.
Libra, formed in 2005, signed a contract in April with Petronas Floating LNG 1 (PFLNG1) for the provision of tug services.
That deal was worth $43.8m over a six-year period.
EAT said the purchase was made to generate additional revenue.
