DSME has confirmed that it has secured orders for two more VLCC newbuildings, ending a very successful week for the South Korean shipbuilder.
It said the deal for the two 300,000-dwt vessels was worth a total of $170m and would see the ship delivered by the first half of 2020, according to a regulatory filing.
The identity of the buyer was not disclosed, but TradeWinds reported on Thursday that Greece’s Pantheon Tankers was close to ordering VLCCs at DSME.
