An animation of AIS data by Vesseltracker has revealed how a tanker and a bulker collided in the English Channel on Saturday.
The accident which damaged both Valles Steamship's 48,600-dwt MR Seafrontier (built 2011) and the 75,800-dwt Chinese vessel Huayang Endeavour (built 2011) occurred in the early hours in the Dover Strait.
The tracking video shows Huayang Endeavour veer towards the tanker before hitting it on the port side, although Seafrontier also makes a late change of course into its path.
