Crude tankers have vacated product tanker trades — for now at least.
During their fourth-quarter earnings calls, stock-listed product tanker owners said the crude tankers grabbing product cargoes to cope with an anaemic market had largely returned to their own trades.
Hafnia said that in the first quarter, crude tankers were only responsible for lifting 1% to 2% of product cargoes.
