A seafarer was temporarily taken hostage by robbers on a crude tanker in Venezuela.
The unnamed ship was anchored in Puerto La Cruz on 1 September when the attack happened, according to the IMB's piracy reporting centre.
Five men boarded from a small fishing boat. They were armed with pistols, knives and sticks.
They assaulted the aft duty watchman, tying him up and taking him hostage.
