An Indian aframax carrying a disputed crude cargo from Sudan is free to unload in Japan after a court ruling.
Charterer Trafigura said a London ruling had cleared the way for the 106,000-dwt Ratna Shradha (built 2008) to discharge in Kiire.
It added: “The court will hold all proceeds related to the cargo until ownership is legally established.”
Newly independent South Sudan claimed the oil, loaded from northern neighbour Sudan’s Port Sudan in January, was stolen in a row over transit fees from the south to the north.
