Clarksons Platou Securities says tanker owners are increasingly holding vessels back from sale-and-purchase markets as they try to gauge the extent of a recovery in rates.
This is despite a rise in asset values, which remain on an upwards trend, the investment banking arm of UK shipbroker Clarksons noted.
"Vessel values remain very firm and are pushing higher in several segments," analysts Frode Morkedal and Omar Nokta said.
