China’s net imports of oil products surged 37% to 639,000 bpd in September, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.
The increase was driven by strong inflows of LPG, fuel oil and naphtha. However, this was partially offset by a 7% decline in demand for gasoil.
“Growth in China's apparent demand for gasoline and naphtha slowed in September, while demand for LPG, fuel oil and jet fuel continued to rise at a blistering pace,” said Platts.
