Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC) is set to secure an order four 300,000-dwt tanker newbuildings from China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).
Shipbuilding players said a letter of intent (LOI) for the VLCCs has been signed between state-owned DSIC and CMES.
Delivery of the quartet is scheduled for between late 2021 and the first half of 2022.
“CMES has reserved the shipbuilding slots,” an Asia-based shipbuilding broker said.
