Jiangsu-based New Times Shipbuilding has made its mark in history — by delivering the world’s first LNG-powered aframax product tanker.
The privately-owned shipyard has handed over the 110,000-dwt LR2 Clearocean Emerald (built 2022) to Idan Ofer-controlled Eastern Pacific Shipping.
The vessel is one of two LNG-powered LR2s that Eastern Pacific ordered in 2019 for a reported price of $58m each.
