Diversified Greek owner Chandris is selling a 28-year-old aframax tanker for demolition.
European shipbrokers say its Egyptian subsidiary Pyramid Navigation has sold the 95,000-dwt Alexia 2 (built 1990) for optional delivery for $456 per ldt or $6.3m.
The ship was purchased from Seacrest Shipping for $38m as Meribel in February 2008.
Pyramid last sold a ship for scrap in 2012, when the 68,000-dwt tanker Zeinat 3 (built 1995) was sold for $8.3m.
