In a statement the Nasdaq-quoted owner said Repsol Trading hired the 150,400-dwt Aias (built 2008) for three years at a rate of $26,500 per day.
CPP pointed out that the crude carrier had been earning $24,000 daily and noted the new charter is scheduled to commence in February 2015.
The operator indicated one of its product tankers, the 36,700-dwt Arionas (built 2006), is going to rake in $15,000 per day in a deal with its sponsor.
