Faced with few large tankers or bulkers on the demolition sales list in the last weeks of 2021, ship recyclers in India and Pakistan are keeping busy by buying small tankers and offshore vessels.
The trend was highlighted by arrivals at Alang and Gadani Beach during the first week of 2022.
The largest arrival was at Gadani, where the Bihar-owned aframax tanker Qubaa (built 1998) dropped anchor to await beaching on Tuesday 4 January.
