Saudi Arabian tanker giant Bahri has said its charter of nine MR chemical carriers from United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC) demonstrates its faith in the sector.
The Riyadh-based shipowner's Bahri Chemicals fixed the 45,000-dwt and 46,000-dwt tankers earlier in March from the Peter Georgiopoulos company on long-term deals.
A Bahri spokesman told TradeWinds: "Bahri Chemicals has time-chartered these vessels in anticipation of the post-pandemic recovery and to reinforce our service to our global customer base."
