Vardinoyiannis group company Avin is selling yet another tanker for scrap, at a firm price that could boost confidence in a demolition market plagued by uncertainty recently.
The 44,500-dwt Pearl (built 1997), a medium-range two (MR 2) tanker, was sold to cash buyer GMS, TradeWinds is told. The transaction was concluded "as is" at $450 per ldt. The Chernomirskiy-built ship is to be delivered in Singapore, where it is currently at anchor.
