Greek owner Avin International has swept up two tankers from the Toisa fleet that a New York bankruptcy court ordered sold last month, market sources say.
Avin is understood to be paying $46m to take the two ships, which form part of the 20 trading vessels and six newbuildings being sold.
Vardinoyannis family-controlled Avin is believed to have secured financing as part of the purchase, with some suggestion this has come from the existing lenders.
