Increase North Sea crude oil production is generating increased ton-miles as cargoes look for markets further afield due to stagnating European demand.
This is reportedly leading to more exports to longer-haul destinations across the Atlantic and in Asia, according to Poten & Partners.
Not surprisingly, exporters are using larger vessels to be competitive with Middle Eastern, West African and US barrels.
