Belgium’s Euronav says the group is in talks over new ammonia-ready chemical tankers for charter to ExxonMobil.
CEO Alexander Saverys was asked on an earnings call to comment on a TradeWinds report that a plan to order up to 20 stainless steel ships was in the offing.
He said: “There are discussions ongoing with Exxon, but it’s not about 20 ships, it’s about seven ships, but nothing has been signed firmly yet.
