Singapore-based AG Shipping & Energy appears to be doubling its fleet by purchasing an LR2 tanker from Japan’s Iino Marine.
The company has bought the Hyundai Heavy Industries-built, 105,000-dwt Glory Crescent (built 2013) for between $23.2m and $25m, European brokers said.
The tanker was inspected recently in Singapore by eight potential buyers.
The price is lower than expected, which may partly be explained by the fact that the Glory Crescent is not coiled.
