Aframax owners have forced spot rates up 29% in 24 hours as more positive sentiment finally translated into a better market.
Clarksons Securities quoted eco ships at $35,300 per day on Thursday.
“With a tight tonnage list and an increase in cargoes at the start of the week, there was some anticipation among owners for rates to jump this week, but the market remained untested until yesterday,” the investment bank said.
