Frontline chief executive Lars Barstad has urged the International Maritime Organization to do more to tackle the rogue tanker fleet sailing under false names and flags.
The VLCC and suezmax company’s boss told TradeWinds the situation with elderly vessels trading in sanctioned Iranian and Venezuelan oil is “ridiculous” and threatens environmental catastrophe.
Barstad said: “I’m getting more and more frustrated on the seemingly uninterrupted trade going on involving sanctioned crude.
