Increased exports of agriculture products helped boost the US Port of Tacoma’s export container volumes by 11%.

Loaded outbound containers last year from the Washington State-based port were 375,744-teu versus the 337,538-teu in 2010.

Agriculture products make up more than half of the port’s containerized exports. Leading agriculture exports include potatoes, hops and hay.

However, the year-on-year increase in containerized exports could not hide what was the port’s second worst performance since 2006.
