Growing demand for green construction materials has helped Norwegian start-up Nordic Circles secure more investment as it wins over the building industry promoting the benefits of upcycled ship steel.
Steel is the second most commonly used material in construction, after concrete. According to UN figures, it also accounts for 7% of global emissions due to the energy-intense way it is produced using blast furnaces.
