Singapore marine technology company SeaTech Solutions International has teamed up with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineering to design and build India’s first electric tug.
The E-VOLT 50 project is described by the partners as a “groundbreaking initiative poised to revolutionise India’s tugboat industry by curbing carbon emissions, enhancing operational efficiency and establishing new benchmarks for performance and environmental sustainability”.
The memorandum of understanding signed by the partners calls for the vessel to be designed by SeaTech Solutions and built by Garden Reach.
