Arne Blystad's Songa Bulk has opened the door for a move into the capesize segment.
Sources link the company to the Dalian-built 180,000-dwt Pacific Canopus (built 2012). They allege the ship has gone for a firm $28.5m.
Herman Billung, chief executive of Songa Bulk, confirms that the company looked at the ship, but did not buy it.
Pacific International Lines (PIL) recently sold a sistership Pacific Capella (built 2012) for $27m.
