Songa Bulk is booking a $2m profit on selling the 59,000-dwt Songa Marlin (built 2009) at the same time as it confirmed the addition of a third capesize.
The Songa Marlin has gone to an undisclosed buyer for $13.85m. It was bought last December from Japan’s Kambara Kisen for $11.85m.
TradeWinds reported yesterday that Songa was closing in on the purchase of the 181,300-dwt Cape Claudine (built 2011) from Stamatis Molaris-led Empire Bulkers.
