Mexico's Ultramar has picked a UK shipyard for its new ferry order.
It has contracted two high-speed vessels at Wight Shipyard, the shipbuilder said.
Mexico's largest ferry operator has previously had all its ships constructed in the US.
The two 37-metre ferries will carry 459 passenger at 24 knots.
“This order for Ultramar really is very satisfying as it continues our move into international markets,” said Wight Shipyard CEO Peter Morton.
