Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has won its first-ever LPG carrier newbuilding contract in a breakthrough four-ship deal with a local owner.

Tsuneishi, which builds most of its ships in the Philippines and China, will build the LPG carriers at its Japanese facility in Hiroshima. The first in the series of LPG carriers will be delivered in 2023.

The owner behind the deal, and the price of the contract, have not been disclosed.
