Tarbit Shipping has ordered up to four dual-fuelled chemical tanker newbuildings worth about $200m.
The Swedish company has contracted Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Shipbuilding to construct two LNG-fuelled, 13,000-dwt vessels fitted with type-C tanks. The deal includes two options.
Tarbit’s order is Yangzijiang’s first-ever LNG-fuelled tanker contract.
Officials at Yangzijiang declined to comment on the order, citing contract confidentiality.
