A Korean state restructuring plan for two mid-sized shipbuilders is due to be revealed this week - and jobs will be on the line.
The Yonhap news agency reported that the government is set to announce on Thursday how it will revive STX Offshore & Shipbuilding (STX O&S) and Sungdong Shipbuilding.
STX O&S is likely to undergo redundancies, while Sungdong will switch its business focus, a senior government official was cited as saying.
