Socatra of France is back in the newbuilding market after a six-year hiatus.
The company is seeking to expand its medium-range (MR) tanker fleet and is said to have inked letters of intent (LOIs) for 50,000-dwt products carriers at shipyards in South Korea and China.
Industry sources say Socatra aims to order up to four vessels each at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding and Jinling Shipyard.
