China’s Shanghai Huayuan Shipping is expanding its fleet with supramax bulker newbuildings.
The coal transportation company has ordered a pair of 52,000-dwt newbuildings at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for delivery in late 2021, said a shipbuilding source familiar with the deal. The contract includes options for two additional ships.
The shipbuilding source added that China Classification Society (CCS) will class the ships, which will fly the Chinese flag.
