Russia's federal marine agency Rosmorrechflot is lining up orders for 147 new ships over the next six years.
PortNews cited its head Yury Tsvetkov as saying that vessels are needed for the Northern Sea Route (NSR) through the Arctic, as well as for ports and inland waterways.
The ports programme will involve the construction of nine icebreakers.
A contract for a 7MW multifunctional rescue ship has been signed with Amursky Shipyard, with delivery scheduled for 2021.
