US ship management company Tote Services has ordered another national security multi-mission vessel (NSMV) from Philly Shipyard, bringing its order to five vessels.
The new $300m ship will replace the ageing training vessel at California State University Maritime Academy in Vallejo, an exchange filing said on Monday.
The order was authorised by the US Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (Marad), which developed the initial concept for the NSMV design and will own the vessels.
