New Dayang Shipbuilding has signed CNY 600m ($86m)-worth of bulker orders from two Chinese companies.
The Yangzhou shipyard disclosed that Zhejiang Shipping has signed up for two 51,000-dwt vessels, while ShiShi Dingsheng Shipping placed two firm 75,000-dwt orders with two options.
The contracts lift state-owned Dayang’s orderbook to 25 newbuildings, with berths booked until mid-2022.
Shipbuilding market sources said the bulkers ordered by Zhejiang Shipping and ShiShi Dingsheng will be used for domestic trades.
