Japan’s Mitsui & Co has added kamsarmax bulkers to its order at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.
Shipbuilding sources said the trading house’s 82,000-dwt newbuildings were inked last month and the Tokyo-headquartered outfit is scheduled to take delivery in 2020.
No price for the IMO Tier-II compliant ships has been disclosed, but sources say it is around $27m each.
The sources did not know whether the order includes options, but media reports indicate that it may involve two.
