Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has won a contract to build two multi-role response vessels (MRRV) for the Philippines government.
These vessels will be built at Shimonoseki Shipyard & Machinery Works for completion and delivery in 2022. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Mitsubishi said the large MRRVs are needed for severe-weather rescue missions and for patrolling Philippine offshore and coastal zones.
