Mitsubishi Heavy Industries says it will split its shipbuilding business into two with one unit dedicated to specialty vessel and one for large ships.
Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co will work on ships that require intensive outfitting, including : ferries and government vessels. That unit will consolidate shipyards at Shimonoseki and Nagasaki.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Structure Co will mainly engage in the manufacture of large ships and marine structures.
