Sundaresh Bhat has been appointed liquidator of ABG Shipyard as its end nears.
The yard announced the move six days after confirming that India's National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had ordered its liquidation.
A last-minute plea to avoid winding-up by bidder Liberty House failed, the Economic Times reported.
ABG's bankruptcy restructuring was approved by NCLT in 2017.
Lender ICICI, which applied for the process, said the struggling yard had defaulted on INR 45bn of loans.
