Japanese shipbuilders have seen a strong finnish to the 2018 calendar year with a 20 vessel haul, latest figures show.
The orders were boosted by deals for five VLCCs pushing the total gross tonnage secured up 154.2% year-on-year to 1.3mgt.
TradeWinds reported in late December that Imabari had confirmed an order for four VLCC newbuildings from Greece’s Navios.
