India has plans to double the size of its shipbuilding and shipbreaking industry, according to local media reports.
An anonymous top government official told The Economic Times that the country’s new policy will help build a niche capacity with a special focus on big commercial ships besides inland vessels.
India intends to be positioned as a manufacturing hub for LPG, LNG, cruiseships and tankers, according to the report.
